About the opportunity
This is an exciting part-time opportunity for motivated students to join Prof. Joseph Blais research team at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy LKS Faculty of Medicine The University of Hong Kong. The Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy has many collaborative research projects with other departments teaching hospitals universities and the pharmaceutical industry. This research project focuses on understanding medication adherence among patients with chronic diseases in Hong Kong. As a student research assistant will support the research team in conducting patient interviews and data collection allowing you to apply your communication writing and project management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support questionnaire-based project on medication adherence
- Screen eligible patients to participate at hospital clinics
- Explain the study answer questions and obtain informed consent from study participants
- Administer questionnaire in Cantonese or English
- Record collected research data according to standard procedure and policies
- Conduct data analysis
- Search the scientific literature to retrieve read and extract data from research studies.
- Support administrative/project management tasks including preparing reports liaising with project staff and clinicians

Requirements
- Current undergraduate or master student
- Mandatory to have excellent command of English and Cantonese ability to read and write Chinese (traditional)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Great organizational skills and attentive to details
- An interest in developing research data analysis and scientific communication skills
What We Offer
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary part-time basis for 3-6 months with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
