The Central Bank of Cyprus is accepting applications for the filling of one (1) permanent vacant position of Director as follows:
Director (Chief Information Officer) Information Technology Directorate
Duties and Responsibilities
Implementation of the digital and technological transformation of the Central Bank of Cyprus in a manner that ensures that the technology used data and required skills support the Banks strategic objectives operational excellence and mission. Oversight of daily technology operations to ensure system reliability cybersecurity compliance and the delivery of IT services while supporting business units with effective solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of the digital transformation roadmap including project delivery management data governance and adherence to standards for security resilience compliance and data protection.
- Leadership of cultural change in the delivery of technology solutions and overall operational transformation aiming to embed agility and service excellence across all levels of the Bank.

Redesign of functions and processes using modern digital practices.
- Oversight of the integration of emerging technologies and business models in a manner that takes risks into account and aligns with the Banks policies.
- Establishment of governance frameworks that ensure accountability transparency and strategic alignment across all IT initiatives and digital actions.

Planning and prioritisation of investments in technology.
- Strategic oversight of the Banks technology architecture cybersecurity and the resilience of critical systems.
- Monitoring developments in the technology sector (e.g. AI cloud blockchain cybersecurity data analytics) evaluating them and shaping the evolution roadmap in line with the Banks operations.
- Oversight and management of the performance and delivery of technology programmes and projects in accordance with agreed timelines and objectives.

Leadership and management of the technology and digital transformation team.
- Talent development and upskilling across the Bank to enhance the use of technology and innovation.
- Strengthening collaboration between business units technology and operations to accelerate organisation-wide outcomes.
- Representation of the Bank in European Union Eurosystem financial sector and other international committees in relation to digital transformation data policy and technology trends.
- Cooperation with the Eurosystem on technology initiatives and digital actions with external stakeholders (government financial institutions supervisory authorities the European Central Bank etc.).
- Clear communication of complex technology and digital transformation topics to non-technical audiences.

General Information
- According to the provisions of the Central Bank of Cyprus Employees (Terms of Service) Directives of 2024 C.D.P. 195/2024 all positions of the same grade are interchangeable.
- The successful candidate will be placed on the salary scale 66290 x 2878.85 (14 increments) 106594. This scale includes the incorporation of part of the cost-of-living allowance amounting to 27.99%.
- The gross annual salary including the 13th salary and the existing cost-of-living allowance is expected to range between 80834.02 and 129980.60 depending on qualifications and experience. Applicable deductions and/or reductions will apply.
- The applicable cost-of-living allowance and a 13th salary are granted in line with the Public Service.
- The appointed individual may be required to work hours different from the standard working hours of the Central Bank of Cyprus.

An electronic confirmation of receipt will be sent.
The final date and time for submission of applications is Friday 16 January 2026 at 23:59. No applications will be accepted after this deadline. Applications without proof of payment by the deadline will not be considered.
Applications will be considered only if applicants meet the required qualifications by the closing date. Evaluation will be based solely on the information submitted. At a later stage academic and professional certificates and/or confirmation of experience from previous employers will be required.

The evaluation process is as follows:
Stage A Initial Personal Interview (40%)
Candidates who meet the required qualifications will be invited to an initial interview to assess specialised knowledge experience and interpersonal skills. Up to five (5) shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage.
Stage B Final Personal Interview (60%)
A final interview to assess strategic thinking resource management and staff supervision capabilities and overall vision for the role.
Processing of Personal Data
The Central Bank of Cyprus as Data Controller under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) processes personal data submitted for the purpose of evaluating suitability for the position applied for.
Personal data processed include identification details contact information CV data (education professional experience etc.) and evaluation-related data necessary for the selection process.
Data will be shared with Exelsys Ltd acting as a processor on behalf of the Bank and retained for two (2) years after completion of the recruitment process provided no legal or administrative proceedings are pending.
