About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Surgical Service Support Manager to lead and coordinate the non-clinical operations that underpin a safe efficient and high-performing surgical service at Southland Hospital. This role is responsible for optimising theatre and perioperative workflows across a range of surgical specialties managing resources and staffing and working closely with clinical leaders to improve access patient flow and surgical outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership a clear understanding of hospital systems and theatre environments and the ability to translate service pressures and data into practical solutions. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in complexity values collaboration and is committed to improving care for patients and clinicians alike.
As the Service Support Manager you will be assisting the Surgical Service Manager in leading and managing Southlands Surgery service and coordinating the day-to-day functions. The Surgical Department is a dynamic and forward-thinking department with many ideas and initiatives to improve our services. Your key relationship will be with the Service Manager but you will also work very closely with also our proactive Clinical Directors and directly with the Senior Medical Nursing and Allied staff. Your support for the Service Manager will be integral to supporting and continuing the current work that is underway and any new initiatives as they arise.
