About the role:
Reporting to the Environment Lead the Environment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating multiple development projects across site to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and manage effective integration with existing operations at Fording River Operations (FRO).
To be successful we are looking for someone with strong leadership abilities who can excel in a multi-functional team environment with nominal supervision; someone with excellent written and verbal communication who can effectively build and foster relationships while engaging with communities of interest and professionals at all levels of the organization for the purpose of influencing and implementing continuous addition strong problem-solving critical thinking organizational time management and analytical skills as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are vital for this role.

In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Collaborate with and develop and maintain working relationships with various disciplines and departments as well as external agencies and communities of interest
    • Coordinate the completion of all regulatory compliance obligations from project applications including management plans permit approvals and regulatory inspections or audits
    • Organize regulatory inspections and provide action response plans associated with any inspection findings
    • Fulfill information request/requirements for projects from various internal and external groups
    • Develop a strong understanding of applicable permits management plans and associated regulatory requirements for all projects
    • Reconcile legacy information and documentation from permitting and regulatory files into a retrievable system

Requirements:

    • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering Biology Forestry Agriculture or a related field
    • Minimum three years experience in the field of environmental regulation or compliance in an industrial environment
    • Comfort with influencing and supporting practical and process change across various disciplines and departments
    • Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations is an asset
    • Experience with environmental data management analysis reporting and utilizing databases is an asset
$94000 - $116000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
