Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the IFAs individual giving strategy to meet fundraising targets and long-term organizational growth covering the full donor lifecycle including acquisition cultivation stewardship and retention.
  • Plan and execute targeted digital fundraising campaigns across social media and online channels to acquire new donors.
  • Manage the Monthly Donor program by overseeing the donor journey and implementing strategies to increase monthly sign-ups.
  • Grow and manage a dedicated portfolio of individual and mid-level donors through strategic acquisition and personalized stewardship.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify new opportunities and develop tailored cultivation strategies for potential donors.
  • Manage and optimize third-party donation platforms including CanadaHelps PayPal Benevity Double the Donation and others.
  • Develop engaging digital content including social media posts email campaigns and newsletters to attract and retain donors.
  • Track analyze and report on fundraising performance donor trends and campaign outcomes; provide regular insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain and update the donor database ensuring data accuracy segmentation and compliance with privacy standards.
  • Participate in networking activities to identify new funding opportunities and stay current on digital fundraising trends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications Skills and Requirements

  • 4-5 years of professional fundraising experience with a strong focus on individual giving (annual giving monthly giving donor stewardship donor acquisition and renewals).
  • 25 years of demonstrated direct experience working with or alongside Indigenous communities or non-profits; knowledge of cultural protocols and ability to sustain respectful relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience running successful digital fundraising campaigns via social media email marketing and peer-to-peer platforms.
  • Proven success in securing gifts from individual and mid-level donors and experience managing the full donor cycle from identification to stewardship.
  • Experience working in a data-driven fundraising environment with the ability to analyze and interpret fundraising data to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience managing donation portals and workplace giving platforms specifically CanadaHelps Benevity PayPal and Double the Donation.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Canva) and strong working knowledge of digital marketing platforms including Google Analytics and social media advertising.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate campaign and donor stewardship effectiveness and propose solutions.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities in Canada would be a strong asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
  • Understanding and knowledge of a trauma-informed culturally safe holistic approach to Indigenous-led programming.
