The Building Performance Analyst is responsible for delivery of performance modeling expertise on project work. Job duties include: In collaboration with other Sustainable Design leaders within SmithGroup develop performance models (energy daylighting thermal comfort airflow carbon) at a variety of scales (urban district building building system). Provide modeling expertise and technical parametric analysis in support of project design teams. Provide modeling concepts and reports to clients and other external parties during qualification interviews project team meetings and community/agency reviews. Collaborate with our in-house group of professionals that specialize in performance modeling. Develop tools processes and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of performance modeling. Research validate and implement performance modeling software programs and tools. Create staff training/development programs to increase the knowledge of project teams in the application of performance modeling methods. Model building and system designs accurately to gain sustainability and energy reduction strategies using energy modeling software such as IES-VE EnergyPlus and Honeybee and design software such as Revit Sketchup and Rhino. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week. National or regional travel to client sites may be required less than 10% of work time.
Minimum requirement: a bachelors degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in architecture engineering or a closely related field of study and five years of experience in a related occupation working on sustainable design or energy modeling of building systems for higher education science and technology commercial office or healthcare facilities. Basic annual pay range is ninety-eight thousand five hundred thirty dollars to one hundred five thousand dollars for full-time employment and standard company benefits.
