Assistant Lead Building Engineer
On-Site Denver CO
Compensation: $83200 $83200 per year
The Assistant Lead Building Engineer supports daily facility operations by helping lead the maintenance team and ensuring building systems operate safely efficiently and reliably. This role works closely with the Lead Engineer and management to coordinate work support technicians and maintain critical building systems in a technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support and assist in supervising maintenance personnel and daily work assignments
Help train and mentor maintenance staff and promote safe work practices
Coordinate and assist with completion of maintenance and service requests
Support management of outside vendors and contractors
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
Building Systems & Technical Support
Assist in operation maintenance and repair of HVAC systems
Monitor and support Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS)
Perform hands-on electrical plumbing and carpentry repairs as needed
Assist with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical electrical and control systems
Preventive Maintenance & Safety
Support and help execute the preventive maintenance program
Perform and document monthly preventive maintenance tasks
Identify equipment issues and assist in corrective actions
Conduct facility inspections for safety security and operational concerns
Follow all safety policies and regulatory requirements
Administrative Support
Assist with ordering parts materials and tools
Help maintain inventory and equipment availability
Support bid reviews and contractor coordination when required
Required Qualifications
High school diploma
Minimum 5 years of facility or building engineering maintenance experience
Previous experience leading or supervising maintenance staff
Strong working knowledge of HVAC electrical and plumbing systems
Experience with Building Automation Systems and controls
Journeyman-level mechanical aptitude
Proficiency with email Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to use power tools and perform hands-on repairs
Ability to work on ladders lift up to 80 lbs. and work in varied conditions
Authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
