As the Assistant Wilderness Coordinator you will play a key leadership role in supporting the delivery of high-quality In-Camp Trail wilderness programming. This is an active vacancy not a future hiring pool and the successful candidate will make an immediate impact by strengthening safety practices program operations and staff supporthelping ensure Camp Stephens continues to be a place where campers and staff Shine On.

HOW youll create Moments that Matter:
You will support and oversee In-Camp Trail wilderness programming ensuring safety policies risk-management systems and industry best practices are consistently followed. You will help train and support the Wilderness Team maintain equipment and inventories and contribute to camp-wide programming such as Depot sessions and Clubs activities. You will also manage key administrative tasks including food orders environmental tracking budgeting support and end-of-season reporting to drive continuous improvement.
What Youll bring:
- Experience leading youth or wilderness programs in camp or outdoor environments with a strong focus on safety and engagement.
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic setting.
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusion safeguarding and the Ys mission and values.
- Required Certifications: Standard First Aid with CPR-C Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) Moving Water White Water Rescue (WWR)
