About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and analytical professional to lead lean manufacturing initiatives on the shop floor while supporting production planning and scheduling. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in lean principlespreferably gained in the automotive sectorand a passion for driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement future state processes using lean tools and methodologies.
- Develop and execute tactical plans to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production quality and logistics teams to ensure alignment and sustainability of improvements.
- Support daily and weekly production planning and scheduling activities.
- Monitor production performance and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery and quality targets.
- Review work center capacities and align with keeping resources with work orders.
- Update delivery dates when not on schedule to make delivery date.
- Ensure flow is happening throughout the plant from first to last operation analyze why if not.
- Develop visual KPI boards for each area/work center in the plant.
- The ability to recognize bottlenecks and recommend needed adjustments.
- Other initiatives and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Experience in lean manufacturing with a strong understanding of tools such as value stream mapping 5S SMED and Kaizen.
- Background in production planning scheduling or operations coordination.
- Automotive industry experience is a strong asset due to its lean maturity.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelors degree in engineering Operations Management or a related field preferred.
