The Company

Our client is a privately owned boutique building contractor that specialises in commercial new build fit out and refurbishment. The have secured ongoing negotiated work with several national brands from the retail and hospitality sectors as well as positioning themselves well with works associated with the 2032 Olympics here in Brisbane.

Due to this ongoing success and clear revenue projections they are predicting steady growth in what is an incredibly exciting time for the business.

The Role

Due to the forecast growth our client is looking for a new Estimator to join the business. This role is far more than measures and take offs in fact most of the measuring wont be your responsibility.

Working closely with the Managing Director and operational teams you will manage the Estimating process with a strategic approach to your method.

About you

You will understand critical trades and costs on a case-by-case basis mitigating risk and capitalising on opportunity with smarts gained through experience.

You will have superior verbal and written communication skills.

You will easily build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with clients consultants and sub-contractors.

You will have superior commercial acumen and a strong technical understanding of fit out and refurbishment projects.

You will be motivated to continue your career development with the possibility of progression to a broader preconstruction management position in the business.

You will be able to dive in to do take offs and measures as and when required.

You will have a Bachelor of Construction Management or Quantity Surveying and at least 5 years tenure in the Brisbane Construction Market working for a Principal Contractor.

You dont have to have been an Estimator! You do have to have transferable skills and be able to articulate how youd add value in this function.
