The Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Texas at Austin seeks to fill a faculty position at the Full Professor rank to serve as the Director of the Billie L. Turner Plant Resources Center (PRC). The PRC has a world-class plant collection of 1.1 million specimens in two herbaria TEX and LL( and is a part of theBiodiversity Center () within the Department of Integrative Biology.The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exemplary leadership of the PRC in biodiversity programming.The PRC has three fulltime staff and several large endowments that secure its future funding. The PRC also has two endowed faculty positions in systematic botanyand eligible candidates will be nominated to bethe holder of the Sidney F. and Doris Blake Centennial Professorship in Systematic Botany.
We prefer candidates with anoutstanding record of researchthat demonstrates innovation in addressing fundamental questions in biodiversity and evolution of should have a demonstrated successful career including influential publications extramural research funding and a commitment to excellent teaching.
