About this Position
The Southern Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) Center serves Tribal communities across Oklahoma Kansas and Texas. Part of a national network of seven TTAP Centers the Southern Center provides training technical assistance technology transfer and workforce development services to support American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal governments in building and managing their transportation programs.
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all requirements of the TTAP Center. This role is expected to represent the TTAP Centerat US Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) meetings and events as well as oversee day-to-day operations of the TTAP Center. This role ensures the Center fulfills its mission as a trusted local resource for Tribal transportation training and support. The Program Manager oversees program planning service delivery staff coordination fiscal management and stakeholder engagement to achieve federal regional and Tribal goals.
Grant funded position; continued employment is contingent upon funding availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors
Transportation related; engineering business public administration workforce development/adult education may also be considered with relevant transportation experience
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Four or more years of experience in transportation infrastructure or Tribal/community development. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of experience.
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Tribal governance transportation systems and federal programs.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets federal grants and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership communication and relationship-building skills and the ability to demonstrate skills both internally with university leadership and externally with stakeholders.
Experience designing and delivering training or workforce development programs.
Demonstrated proficiency in program management from program design and alignment to evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Ability to travel within Oklahoma Kansas and Texas as required; travel to national conferences with overnight stays is expected.
