Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: New York NY 10038
Assignment Details:
Duration: 9 weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (includes a 60-minute break)
Schedule: Monday Friday
Pay Rate: $55 $64 per hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support the Respiratory Care Department. This role focuses primarily on Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) within a fully equipped lab environment with additional clinical support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) including:
Spirometry
Plethysmography
DLCO
6-Minute Walk Tests
Obtain and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory diagnostic equipment
Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
Demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical ventilation and ventilators
Provide respiratory care support in ICU settings as required
Assist with intubation procedures (preferred)
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Utilize computer applications for charting and reporting
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Pulmonary Function Testing experience (required)
Experience in a functioning PFT lab (required)
3 years experience with Spirometry Plethysmography DLCO 6-Min Walk Test and ABGs (required)
2 years ICU experience (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License (required)
BLS certification (required)
ACLS certification (preferred)
Education:
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program (A.A.S. or B.S. as applicable)
