ABOUT US: Health Imperatives (HI) is a multi-service organization dedicated to reducing health and wealth disparities while advancing meaningful opportunities and economic security for people south of Boston. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts. The communities we serve including Brockton New Bedford Plymouth the South Shore South Coast Cape Cod Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket have some of the highest poverty rates and largest wealth gaps in Massachusetts. For nearly 50 years we have addressed the complex needs of people who are disadvantaged by poverty and discrimination and have fallen through the cracks of mainstream systems of care. We provide a wide array of trauma-informed health care emergency services and support.
TITLE: Development Assistant
LOCATION: Hybrid (Brockton with some offsite/remote hours)
PROGRAM: Administration Development
HOURS: Part-time 20 hours per week
SALARY: $27.50-$30.21 hourly/salary
BENEFITS: Medical dental holiday paid earned leave 403b etc.
DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Executive Project Manager the Development Associate is responsible for assisting the Chief of Staff Executive Project Manager and Development Consultant with activities related to fundraising and special events. The Development Associate will have strong computer skills organizational skills and writing and communication skills. Duties include:
- Assist with management of donor data and correspondence.
- Gather information and program data in response to funding opportunities and grant reports.
- Draft responses to funding opportunities and grant reports.
- Monitor grant reporting deadlines and requirements.
- Liaise with Finance staff on account reconciliation and audits.
- Research and inventory potential grant opportunities and wealth screening tools.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events for donors Board members and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of work experience in an office/administrative environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills without the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT.
- Excellent organizational skills. Able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office; Zoom; Sharepoint or similar file-sharing platforms.
- Commitment to working with low-income and vulnerable individuals and families.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior development/fundraising/events experience.
- Experience with CRM software such as Neon or Salesforce.
- Experience using Canva for basic design projects.
- Experience using Constant Contact MailChimp or similar email platforms.
- Familiarity with preparing mail merges and mass mailings.
