TITLE: Substitute Teacher Long-term (30 to 90 Classroom Days in the same assignment)SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal the Long-term Substitute Teacher provides classroom coverage for a teacher who is absent for an extended period working the regular hours of the absent Classroom Teacher during his/her DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaches content and skills in the assigned classroom utilizing lesson plan and designated lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the curriculum and the needs of each student and/or subgroups of academic and social growth of students prepares report cards keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports and other recordkeeping activities as each students progress in meeting the course and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly productiveclassroom student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning health and attitude with parents and school counselors on student students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the school in faculty testing in accordance with division testing QUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree required. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License in the pertinent subject area or student age classification Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the subject(s) or age group being taught and the principles and methodologies of effective -based competencies include attention to detail and accuracy; exercise of judgment in carrying out tasks with minimal guidance and direction; operating a computer including Microsoft and Google applications; and familiarity with educational -based competencies include communicating effectively; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students staff parents and the public. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of the job the employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer; comprehend and communicate; and move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT:This job is normally performed in a school classroom environment and may occasionally be performed on field trips away from school.
