Summary:

JAM Early Education is a Reggio Inspired day school with an emergent curriculum. We plan our curriculum based on principles of development and the needs of the specific children in our classroom fosters an environment that allows children to learn through exploring the world around them. By exploring they are given the means to construct their own knowledge and become independent thinkers. For each child we serve from the youngest infant at 6 weeks old to our preschooler ready to transition to kindergarten they are being planned for based on their individual interests needs and learning goals. We discover this insight of the child by completing observations. We focus on providing children with principle based learning experiences that ignite their curiosity and desire to learn.

Our operating hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm daily with an all staff meeting from 4:45-6:15 once a month. We choose to offer the TEACH scholarship to eligible teachers who choose to further their education. Our organization strives to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment not only in the classrooms but the entire facility. We provide on site training for all of our staff. The classroom portion of training includes a 2 week training and shadowing period with the lead teacher of the classroom. It includes observing and hands-on addition to the training with the lead teacher new teachers will meet with the Chief Education Officer to reflect in principle. The meetings with the Chief Education Officer are ongoing to support professional development. At JAM Early Education we believe that learning is lifelong and just as our students our teachers are all in different places in their journey. We meet everyone where they are!

Summary for I14:

The JAM Center offers a Before and After School enrichment program called I14. The program is located at the Garrett-Keyser-Butler School Annex. At I14 children are exploring concepts of the world around them through conversation imagination investigation and innovation. It is a chance for children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade to work on practical life skills while igniting their curiosity and desire to learn about the topics that interest them. The students enrolled in our program are planned for based on their individual interests needs and learning goals. The way children choose to invest their time will look different for each child.

Our operating hours for the school year are 6:00 am - school drop off and after school pick up - 5:30pm. Our operating hours are 6:00am - 5:30pm on school breaks e-learning days and school cancellations. Our staff hours may vary within those times. We value the dedication to our teachers furthering their education so we support and accommodate school schedules. We also offer a scholarship to eligible candidates for the TEACH scholarship.

Duties:

  1. Create a learning environment that fosters discovery imagination and child development
  2. Build maintain and nurture relationships with children and families
  3. Observe children for their individual needs to plan developmentally appropriate educational opportunities
  4. Plan and implement activities that meet the intellectual emotional and social needs of your students in alignment with principles and child development
  5. Listen for childrens questions and provide opportunities for them to construct their own knowledge
  6. Ensure that the facility and all equipment is clean well-maintained and safe
  7. Manage and mentor classroom staff
  8. Document childrens learning through documentation Indiana Early Learning Standards Foundation assessment and maintaining portfolios
  9. Work in accordance to Indiana State licensing rules Voluntarily Certification Program guidelines and Paths to Quality guidelines
  10. Attend and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities


Requirements:

  1. Associates Bachelors or CDA in Early Education or equivalent
  2. Experience working as a teacher
  3. Experience planning for childrens learning
  4. A curious spirit and desire for lifelong learning opportunities
  5. Must be reliable organized and have an eye for detail
  6. Availability to be in the classroom Monday - Friday (we are open 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m hours will vary within that time frame)
