An inclusive and forward-thinking primary school in the London Borough of Brent is seeking a committed EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in Nursery and Reception.

The Role

You will provide targeted support to children with a range of needs including autism speech and language difficulties sensory processing needs and social emotional and mental health challenges. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Your role will help children to:

  • Engage with learning and play

  • Develop communication and social skills

  • Manage emotions and behaviour

  • Develop independence and confidence

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised SEN support in line with EHCPs

  • Support access to the EYFS curriculum

  • Implement strategies advised by the SENCo and external professionals

  • Use visual aids routines and sensory resources

  • Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion

  • Support with personal care and hygiene when necessary

  • Observe record and report on progress

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN ideally in EYFS

  • Is calm patient and compassionate

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Is committed to inclusion and safeguarding

  • Is eager to develop professionally
