Overview
The Grant Program Analyst supports the effective administration of multiple child care grant programs including the Alberta Child Care Grant Funding and Affordability Grant Programs. This role ensures financial accountability evaluates funding eligibility manages grant-related issues and complaints and supports program operations in alignment with legislation policy and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Administration & Financial Oversight
Assess evaluate and recommend grant funding for licensed child care programs.
Determine eligibility and ensure compliance with grant conditions.
Advise grant recipients on unmet funding requirements and corrective actions.
Identify grant delivery or payment issues and recommend resolution options.
Ensure services are delivered in accordance with financial legislation ministerial policy and established guidelines.
Complaint Management
Respond to and manage complaints from grant recipients early childhood educators and families.
Review complaints and determine appropriate courses of action consulting senior analysts as required.
Gather and assess additional information to support investigations.
Assist with complaint investigations resolutions and referrals when necessary.
Program & Team Support
Contribute to the development of operational plans for the Child Care Branch.
Delegate administrative tasks to support staff as required.
Foster a positive collaborative team environment.
Work Arrangement
Initial onsite training in Edmonton (Forestry BuildingSt NW).
Remote work following completion of training.
Mandatory Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years experience in research analysis and problem-solving.
Minimum 2 years experience working directly with business or government clients.
Minimum 3 years experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant or similar role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy attention to detail and strong computer skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Criminal record check (required prior to start).
Nice to Have
Relevant post-secondary education in office administration or a related field.
