Project Overview
Client is seeking a Nurse Manager II to lead hospital-based nursing operations in a 24/7 clinical environment. This role is responsible for overseeing patient care delivery clinical practice standards operational performance regulatory compliance and staff development across assigned units. The position requires strong clinical leadership operational oversight and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe high-quality patient care.
Depending on assignment specialty experience may be required in areas such as Cath Lab Operating Room/Procedure Suite Emergency Services Critical Care or Maternal Child Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of best-practice care models nursing practice standards and patient care delivery systems across multiple units.
- Oversee daily operations of assigned hospital units ensuring staffing resources equipment medications and supplies are appropriately managed.
- Provide clinical leadership supervision and direction to nursing staff; ensure competency licensure and adherence to scope of practice.
- Manage patient care concerns and delegate investigation and resolution of patient family or member issues related to care and services.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with physicians clinical leaders and external healthcare providers to support coordinated care delivery.
- Translate organizational and departmental strategies into operational plans goals and measurable outcomes for assigned teams.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory legal and accreditation requirements including the Nursing Practice Act The Joint Commission and federal state and local regulations.
- Lead quality safety and performance improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes operational efficiency and cost management.
- Manage administrative functions including budgeting payroll oversight workforce planning recruitment performance management labor relations and staff development.
- Support emergency preparedness planning and ensure staff readiness for emergency response and recovery.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects process improvement initiatives and technology or operational enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery.
- Bachelor s degree in Nursing (BSN) and minimum five (5) years of experience in business operations clinical healthcare or a related field.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon at time of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
- Cath Lab experience (cardiac catheterization laboratory) is required.
