Job Summary

**Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)**

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Oregon you will use your nursing skills to help care for patients. You will teach patients and their families about their health. You will write down information about patient care in their medical records. You will work with a team of other health professionals to provide the best care for patients.

**Skills and Abilities**

- Can read and write clearly in English and talk with others.

- Able to think critically and solve problems.

- Flexible and can adapt to changing needs of patients and the unit.

- Good at teaching others.- Can respond well to patient emergencies.

- Can use a computer for various tasks including writing documents and entering information in medical records.- Arrives on time and attends work regularly.

**Education/Certifications/Licenses**

- Must have a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oregon.

- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

- Must get Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by the end of the grace period (6 months).

**Experience**

- Recent experience (within the past 5 years) in an acute care hospital is preferred.

- Preference for candidates who have worked in an acute care hospital in the last two years or have experience in intermediate or progressive care.

- At least three years of experience is required.

- 2-3 years of experience in Critical Care is preferred.

**Certification Requirements**

- BLS certification is needed.

**State License Requirements**- Must have a license from Oregon.
