Engineering Operations Manager

The Engineering Operations Manager plays a critical role in enabling efficient software development and operations within the Product Engineering and Technical Program Management teams. This position focuses on managing and optimizing the tools processes and workflows that support product development deployment and ongoing operations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented proactive and passionate about continuous improvement. They are comfortable learning new technologies training others and driving adoption of best practices across diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Management & Customization
    Administer and customize core engineering tools such as Jira Confluence and Jellyfish as well as future platforms to deliver robust metrics analytics and executive reporting.
  • Process Standardization
    Define and enforce consistent usage patterns for engineering tools across roles and teams to improve collaboration and efficiency.
  • Business & Technical Alignment
    Apply strong business domain and technical acumen to align tools and processes with Five9s objectives product lifecycle cloud operations and release management practices.
  • Continuous Improvement & Automation
    Identify opportunities to streamline workflows automate repetitive tasks and optimize value streams for maximum impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner with engineering product management and other stakeholders to enhance the developer experience and improve team productivity.
  • AI Integration
    Leverage AI capabilities within engineering tools and enterprise systems to improve content accessibility enable self-service and drive innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in engineering operations tooling or process management.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across multiple roles and teams to deliver solutions that meet diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skillsable to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with flexibility initiative and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience administering Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence).
  • Familiarity with MySQL Python and BI tools for reporting and automation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle processes.
