TITLE: LONG TERM SUB - MUSIC EDUCATION AND BAND TEACHER - MA DESE Music All Levels License Preferred

POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated current/past music classroom and band director experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for music education working knowledge of vocal woodwind brass & percussion instruments and their pedagogies and will be able to meet the following duties:


DUTIES:

  1. Teach and implement music lessons and curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Music Standards and Bellingham Curriculum Guides.
  2. Teach music courses that may include: General Music Instrumental Group Lessons 6th Grade Band and 7th Grade Band. Final schedule is to be determined.
  3. Maintain necessary records required for assessment and attendance.
  4. Follow all policies rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
  5. Oversee student behavior in class and surrounding areas and maintain normal classroom routines and discipline within the classroom.
  6. Maintain appropriate boundaries with students staff and parents
  7. Create and foster an inclusive and culturally sensitive classroom environment that is supportive of all students academic and social development.
  8. Collaborate and communicate with other music staff to maintain a comprehensive music curriculum maintain instruments and equipment and resources.
  9. Assume responsibility for duties that may be assigned by the building principal.
  10. Adhere to the procedures and policies as adopted by the Bellingham School Committee.


CERTIFICATES LICENSES and/or DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. MA DESE Music All Levels License Preferred
  2. Bachelors Degree Preferred

SALARY: $297.35

CLASSIFICATION: Non Union

REPORTS TO:Building Principal

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Students
