Job Overview
The Scrum Master is responsible for practicing promoting and reinforcing an Agile mindset and behaviors while coaching mentoring and inspiring teams on Agile principles values and practices. This role involves independently leading the application of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban across one or more teams while role-modeling leadership behaviors aligned with the organization.
The Scrum Master will guide Agile teams toward achieving objectives KPIs and delivery commitments by enabling effective planning execution and continuous improvement. This role requires strong facilitation communication and servant leadership skills to foster collaboration transparency and high-performing team dynamics.
The Scrum Master will work closely with team members stakeholders and leadership to remove impediments manage risks support scaled Agile planning activities and increase overall Agile maturity across teams. This role may also function in a Scrum-of-Scrums capacity coordinating work across multiple teams or domains.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and reinforce Agile mindset principles values and practices
Independently lead Scrum or Kanban practices for multiple teams
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups sprint planning backlog refinement retrospectives and release planning
Enable progress toward objectives KPIs and delivery commitments
Identify opportunities to improve Agile performance customer value and quality
Remove impediments manage risks resolve conflicts and recommend solutions
Encourage open communication and strong collaboration among team members and stakeholders
Build effective partnerships across technical and business teams
Partner with leadership on scaled planning activities and Agile ceremonies
Actively participate in and contribute to the Agile Community
Support teams with varying levels of Agile maturity and help increase overall maturity
Perform Scrum-of-Scrums responsibilities when required
Perform other duties as assigned
Required / Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred
3 years of experience in a Scrum Master or similar Agile role
Experience delivering epics releases and versions using Agile methodologies
Hands-on experience facilitating Agile techniques such as burndowns retrospectives and user story refinement
Programming or development experience preferred
Experience implementing Agile best practices and standards
Proven ability to lead coach and influence teams while earning trust
Strong servant leadership skills in an Agile environment
Core Competencies
