As a Senior Scrum Master and Digital Agility Coach you will serve as a pivotal servant leader and Lean-Agile champion for a high-priority Agile Team within a prominent Randstad client organization in Washington DC. You will be responsible for maturing team dynamics through the application of SAFe 6.0 principles facilitating seamless PI Planning and removing systemic impediments to value delivery. By blending tactical facilitation with strategic coaching you will foster a culture of relentless improvement transparency and high performance ensuring the team remains aligned with the broader Agile Release Train (ART) objectives while navigating complex enterprise-level digital transformations.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Coaching & Mentorship: Guide teams toward self-organization and higher maturity levels; foster a continuous learning mindset and support T-shaped skill development.
- Event Facilitation: Lead all Iteration events (Planning Sync Review Retrospective) and prepare the team for successful participation in PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) events.
- Flow Optimization: Establish and manage Kanban boards to visualize work identify bottlenecks and utilize OKRs and flow metrics to improve predictable forecasting.
- Servant Leadership: Act as a buffer between the team and outside interference; use persuasion and coaching rather than authority to resolve conflicts and drive decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners to maximize solution value and synchronize with other teams across the ART to manage dependencies and enable Release on Demand.
- Built-in Quality: Promote and coach technical excellence including automated testing BDD and integrated learning cycles to ensure fast reliable execution.
- Enterprise Advocacy: Support the broader adoption of SAFe by coaching stakeholders and non-Agile teams participating in Communities of Practice (CoPs) and collaborating with SAFe Practice Consultants (SPCs).
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of professional experience and education.
- Certifications: Required: SAFe 6.0 Scrum Master Certification. * Preferred: SAFe SASM SPC RTE or ICAgile certifications.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level command of Agile tooling specifically Jira Software Confluence FigJam Jira Align and AgilityInsights.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to present complex concepts to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Framework Expertise: Deep knowledge of Scrum SAFe Kanban and Lean principles with the ability to apply Built-in Quality practices in a digital context.
