Our client a growing energy trading and marketing company operating in crude oil refined petroleum products and natural gas is seeking an experienced Senior Trader to lead and expand its trading operations. This is a senior commercial role for a results-driven trading professional with strong market insight risk discipline and the ability to originate and execute profitable deals in dynamic global energy markets.

What Youll Do
As Senior Trader you will:
Develop and execute medium- and long-term trading strategies aligned with the companys commercial objectives.
Identify analyze and capitalize on trading opportunities across physical and derivative markets.
Execute spot and term trades in crude oil refined products and natural gas with IOCs NOCs traders refiners and other counterparties.
Negotiate and close sales purchase offtake handling and terminal agreements.
Design and implement hedging strategies to manage price volatility and optimize margins.
Monitor global market dynamics pricing trends geopolitical risks and regulatory developments to inform trading decisions.
Work closely with finance legal operations and compliance teams to ensure seamless end-to-end trade execution and documentation.
Oversee crude export planning and coordination to ensure efficiency cost control and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with government agencies regulators and relevant stakeholders to secure permits and approvals for exports.
Track trade performance risk exposure and compliance with trading limits and internal controls.
Represent the company at industry forums government engagements and meetings with partners and counterparties.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on trading performance risks and market insights.
Develop and maintain SOPs documentation and compliance records for trading and export activities.
Requirements
Who You Are
You are a commercially astute energy trading professional with strong execution capability market intuition and disciplined risk management. You thrive under pressure and can make high-value time-sensitive decisions in fast-moving markets.
You Bring:
Bachelors degree in Business Economics Finance Engineering or a related discipline
Masters degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage
Professional certifications in Energy Trading Risk Management or Commodities Markets are beneficial
Minimum of 8 years experience in commodities or energy trading particularly crude oil and refined products
Proven track record in deal origination negotiation execution and profit delivery
Experience working with international traders oil majors or national oil companies
Strong understanding of oil & gas trading regulations export requirements and compliance frameworks
Deep knowledge of global energy markets pricing mechanisms and trade flows
Advanced negotiation analytical and commercial risk assessment skills
Proficiency in trading and market intelligence platforms such as Eikon Platts and Argus
Excellent communication stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
High ethical standards sound judgment and integrity
