Job Summary

Our South-East Queensland Community Rugby League team are looking for an incredible individual to join their team as a Brisbane based Competitions Coordinator!

We need someone with an operational understanding of the professional sports environment not just a passion for the on-field action. To us Rugby League is more than a game. At the QRL youll help unite and inspire people through lifelong engagement in Rugby League. We work across community clubs right up to the elite level and youll champion this remarkable game and see first-hand its impact on Queenslanders everywhere.

What youll do on a day-to-day:

In the role of Competitions Coordinator youll be at the forefront of solving challenges with a solution-focused mindset interacting proactively with a range of stakeholders offering guidance and support also:

  • Support the smooth running of competitions including structure draws game day operations while providing education on new ways of working.
  • Assist in the development of all relevant competition plans (e.g. strategic operational facilities) ensuring alignment with QRL and national strategy.
  • Provide competition logistic support for local league promotional events and finals series hosted in the Local League(s)/Region.
  • Working collaboratively with local league stakeholders on player coach and match official development and registered participation across the area competitions.
  • Reviewing Regional Competitions Operations Manuals detailing Local League(s) rules and policies annually and when required ensuring compliance with QRL Rules.
  • Liaising with relevant Government Departments and assist in identifying grant opportunities.
  • Ensure Leagues understand and comply with QRL License Agreements and other policy relevant to QRL partners including apparel providers.
  • Managing match review tribunal process and any complaints relevant to the local-league(s) competition where required.
  • Supporting the management of the QRL age eligibility rules including administration of Player Development Framework initiatives as they pertain to competition delivery.

What Youll Bring

  • Experience in a similar operational role with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and a high attention to detail ready to make an impact from day one.
  • Current drivers licence and eligibility for a Blue Card.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and comfortable using Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting governance and managing operations across multiple locations.
  • Skilled at building genuine relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Known for a firm yet fair approach and authenticity in every interaction.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills to handle challenges effectively.
  • Flexible and committed knowing rugby league doesnt fit the standard MondayFriday 95 gig.

ROLE SPECS

This is a permanent full-time position. The salary for this position is $73510 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position requirements to ensure gender pay equity in sport. We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season as well as hybrid working arrangements.
