Job Summary

  • Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator
  • Permanent 0.8FTE to 1.0FTE position

As the Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator you will work closely with Principal Investigators Sponsors and all associated staff to co-ordinate and support clinical trial research activities conducted at the Hospital to ensure that a high quality professional and efficient research service is consistently provided.

The role will be required to assist with the day-to-day management of the unit as well as be responsible for the development and establishment of new research projects.

To be successful in this role you will have the following essential and desirable knowledge skills & capabilities

Essential

  • Nursing Allied Health or Science / Research Qualification
  • Prior experience in clinical trials or clinical research projects with demonstrated understanding in the establishment of clinical research and the negotiation and management of clinical research budgets and allocation of resources to ensure projects are able to reach stated objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical trials methodology and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) requirements.
  • Demonstrable commitment to high professional standards in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent communication time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise activities
  • Ability to develop rapport with patients and their families in stressful situations.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in management of a team
  • Experience in the development and cultivation of relationships with Clinical Trial Sponsors
  • Computer software informatics data collection and/or media skills.
  • Understanding of ethics and governance in clinical research.
  • Understanding of importance of confidentiality and data integrity.
