About the Role:

To perform assessments design appraisal work and / or deal with problems to provide solutions for internal / external clients where the parameters are defined.

The Role

  • Undertake Statutory reviews and design appraisal within the agreed parameters including budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures accreditation schemes legislation and industry standards.
  • To make suggestions to improve service delivery effectiveness through changes to processes or work scope such that it leads to a reduction in appraisal effort (where applicable).
  • To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate.
  • Coaching of less experienced colleagues and act as a mentor to colleagues as agreed with line manager.
  • To assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure.
  • Undertake administration work as required in line with current processes and procedures.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

What you bring

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyds Register within the relevant field of engineering (Marine Environmental or Mechanical) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and / or relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ships officer or engineer.
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
  • Experience of working in the Marine industry and familiar with IMO DCS/ EU MRV/ EU ETS related work is an added advantage.
  • Ability to multi-task planning and organizing with good time management skill
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Energetic responsive team player with an interest in safety and keen to use initiative
  • A proactive approach to problem solving with a flexible attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure and get the job done
  • Experience and ability of working across different nationalities and cultures
