The opportunity
Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities employs over 1900 staff and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications including power generation transmission and distribution oil chemical and gas industrial manufacturing semiconductor and data centers as well as building and transportation sectors.

How youll make an impact
1. You will develop implement and manage EHS policies procedures and programs in accordance with local national and international regulations (e.g. OSHA EPA ISO 14001 ISO 45001) conduct regular EHS audits inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards assess risks and recommend corrective actions to minimize incidents and ensure compliance.
2. You will investigate EHS incidents accidents and near misses determine root causes and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence provide expert EHS guidance and support to various departments including engineering manufacturing facilities and research & development and develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels ensuring a strong safety culture and awareness.
3. You will manage environmental permits licenses and reporting requirements ensuring timely and accurate submissions to regulatory bodies and monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics identify trends and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
4. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies (e.g. regulatory bodies consultants) on EHS matters stay abreast of new EHS regulations industry best practices and technological advancements and incorporate them into Hitachis EHS programs.
5. You will participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction programs.
6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelors degree in environmental science Occupational Health & Safety Engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in EHS roles preferably within a manufacturing or technology-focused industry.
3. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent are highly desirable in-depth knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and standards (e.g. OSHA EPA ISO 14001 ISO 45001).
4. Proven experience in conducting EHS audits risk assessments incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
5. Strong understanding of environmental management systems waste management air emissions wastewater treatment and chemical safety. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective EHS training programs.
6. Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
7. Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
