The Role

The People and Recruitment Coordinator uphold a high level of integrity and trust and

undertakes all duties in accordance with policies and procedures. They promote a culture

of mutual respect encouragement and process improvement and work with others in a

professional ethical and cooperative manner ensuring GAC is presented in a positive and

welcoming manner.

The People and Recruitment Coordinator have a sound working knowledge of general

recruitment and human resource functions practices and workflows. They attend work-related

professional development activities and keep abreast of best practice within their field.

This role is part of the Corporate Services Team and works collaboratively in a team

environment to support and enrich their collective responsibilities.

The ideal person for the job

Essential

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or relevant experience.

Proven experience supporting HR functions including recruitment onboarding compliance and

generalist HR tasks.

Demonstrated competence using HRIS platforms ideally Employment Hero.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to audience.

Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.

Ability to create practical tools templates and resources.

Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and commitment to supporting Aboriginal health and community.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

High level computer capability including Microsoft 365 and HR systems.

Passionate about Aboriginal culture and specifically Aboriginal health family and community

Sound knowledge of Cultural Safety in practice and a willingness to learn

Desirable

Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Experience working with an Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisation or similar not-for-profit.

Communication skills Able to communicate with clients management

and employees in an effective manner.

Ability to act cooperatively reasonably and in a friendly manner to promote workplace harmony and team effectiveness.
