We are urgently seeking a Staff Nurse - Theatre Recovery for a hospital in Cork Ireland.
Nurses will be required to work days nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
Provide safe high-quality post-anaesthetic care to patients in the Theatre Recovery Unit (PACU).
Monitor and assess patients airway breathing circulation level of consciousness and pain management post-operatively.
Identify and promptly respond to complications or changes in patients clinical condition escalating concerns appropriately.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with protocols and guidelines.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
Maintain patient safety dignity and comfort at all times.
Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists surgeons and the multidisciplinary team.
Adhere to infection prevention and control policies health and safety standards and NMBI guidelines.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI Register.
Recent experience in Theatre Recovery/PACU or an acute theatre setting is desirable.
Current BLS certification; ACLS is desirable.
Strong post-operative assessment and clinical monitoring skills.
Excellent communication teamwork and organisational skills.
Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to patient-centred care.
