Reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer Private Hospital Division we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated CEO to drive clinical and commercial performance of our New South Wales private hospitals.
The CEO New South Wales Private Hospitals will bring extensive executive management experience with a collaborative inter-professional approach committed to elevating departmental capabilities ultimately ensuring St Vincents set the standard for patient-centred healthcare outcomes.
These should be underpinned by a calm and supportive leadership style comfortable fostering open and honest discussion across One St Vincents.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) New South Wales Private Hospitals is a member of the St Vincents Private Hospitals Division Executive. The position is accountable for overall strategic leadership and management of the New South Wales hospitals. The fundamental objective of this role is to strengthen and grow the healing ministry of Jesus through delivery of Mission based services.
The purpose of the position is to provide leadership across the hospitals to ensure:
Effective management and resources that facilitate the delivery of the highest quality care and services and the maintenance of appropriate standards across our three New South Wales private hospitals
Oversight of nursing allied health peri-operative food environmental business office services human resources education clinical risk quality and infection control responsibilities to achieve established benchmarks and objectives
Close liaison and collaboration with Accredited Medical Practitioners to support their practice within our hospitals and the care of their patients
Primary day to day accountabilities for this business-critical appointment include:
Participate in and implement the SVHA enterprise-wide strategy for private hospitals in New South Wales
Promote and facilitate cross campus collaboration with St Vincents Public Hospital Sydney The Curran Foundation and The Friends of the Mater
Work with the Mission Vision Creed and Values of St Vincents Health Australia the St Vincents Health Australia Code of Conduct and ensure these principles are effectively integrated in all areas of responsibility
Provide leadership in supporting group wide formation programs to ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of the ministry and how the changing needs and environment of the healthcare sector may impact on the delivery of the St Vincents Health Australias mission
Lead and oversee the day-to-day management of the New South Wales hospitals by direct reports particularly by fostering a high-performance operating environment for the executive team for New South Wales private hospitals
Ensure New South Wales private hospitals achieve the highest levels of quality and safety in clinical performance ensuring appropriate policies training and development performance measurement and management processes are in place together with allocation of appropriate resources to achieve the desired levels of performance
Take full responsibility for all safety matters and safety performance of the hospitals
In conjunction with the CFO New South Wales Private Hospitals ensure New South Wales Private Hospitals operate within a robust set of financial and operational performance targets that represent an appropriate balance between current capabilities acceptable performance standards and industry best practice
Effectively manage the cash flow of the hospitals to ensure all commitments both capital & recurrent can be satisfied in accordance with contractual terms.
Build strong collaborative relationships with Accredited Medical Practitioners to support their practice needs and enhance patient outcomes
Ensure New South Wales Private Hospitals always operate in compliance with the Catholic Health Australia Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia and relevant legislation
Through inspiring and people centric leadership the CEO fosters a culture of excellence innovation and mission-driven service ensuring the hospitals remain trusted centres of care for the communities they serve.

Extensive executive management experience in healthcare or other values-based industry focused on continuous improvement and positively impacting its stakeholders
Demonstrated experience leading performance and innovation to achieve results in service performance financial performance and employee engagement
Proven capacity to create a high performing culture including the ability to coach mentor develop and inspire teams
Superior level communication and interpersonal skills highly capable in negotiation networking developing and maintaining positive commercial relationships
Tertiary qualifications preferably at a post graduate level in economics business management health or a related field
A willingness and commitment to explore Mission formation
