Job Summary

Your role at St John of God South East Melbourne Hospitals

As the Director Business and Service Development you will have accountability for driving growth to achieve key financial and operational targets. The role leads the development and execution of strategies to identify deliver new business and service development opportunities.

A key focus is the leadership of the Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) engagement strategy including attraction recruitment and retention informed by market intelligence and performance analytics. The role also oversees VMO performance optimisation including procedural performance to ensure sustainable growth and high-quality outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time position working across our three South East Melbourne sites: Berwick Langmore and Frankston.

The Position:

Enable the Hospital to achieve its financial targets through targeted business development and effective partnering with VMOs.
Lead the strategic and tactical recruitment of new VMOs including development of new and innovative VMO recruitment and retention strategies identifying and nurturing relationships with potential VMO candidates and representing the Hospital and SJGHC in those interactions.
Lead the hospitals VMO engagement strategy ensuring effective VMO communication relationship development succession planning corporate hospitality and practice engagement
Lead the provision of effective on-boarding and business growth support services for new VMOs to support them to rapidly establish their practice and grow activity at the Hospital.
Lead the multi-disciplinary oversight of procedural business (including the Theatre Optimisation Committee)
Bring innovation and insight from around the globe within and outside of the healthcare industry which benefits the Hospital.
Lead the development of an annual Hospital Business development plan which supports achievement of the hospitals activity and margin targets
Monitor financial performance to ensure the achievement of negotiated targets and performance indicators.
Be a part of the SEM Executive Committee playing a pivotal role in our success and achieving our strategic goals in the southeast region of Melbourne

You will have tertiary qualifications in commerce business or a health care discipline and/or significant senior-level experience in a large complex organisation with demonstrated leadership in commercial and consumer functions and a strong understanding of the private healthcare sector.

You bring excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills strong analytical capability and experience using data to support growth. You have a proven ability to deliver strategic and operational objectives lead change inspire teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
