Licenses and Certifications Required
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) months clerical or office experience required; medical office environment preferred.
- Prior experience using computerized systems for scheduling information storage and retrieval preferred.
- Customer service experience or training required (minimum of six months preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred but not required.
Special Skills or Training Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients staff and providers.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including conflict resolution.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and by telephone demonstrating good judgment in handling patient inquiries.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with appointment scheduling software and electronic systems preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
