Job Description Summary
We are seeking for a Medical-Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 13-week contract assignment at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center (PWFMC). This role supports adult and older-adult patients in an acute care Med Surg setting and is open to first-time travelers or local CNAs with an active license in hand. The CNA will work closely with nursing staff to deliver safe high-quality patient care while adhering to infection control and documentation standards.
Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in an acute care Medical-Surgical environment

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing feeding toileting grooming and ambulation
-
Perform vital signs (BP including orthostatics temperature respirations pulse pulse oximetry) and report abnormalities promptly
-
Support pressure injury prevention repositioning and safe patient transfers
-
Assist with bed baths linen changes mouth care perineal care skin care and incontinence care

Perform glucose point-of-care testing as assigned
-
Follow infection control protocols including PPE use and isolation precautions

Accurately document and report changes in patient condition using the Epic charting system

Collaborate with nursing staff to maintain patient safety and unit workflow
Key Requirements

Epic charting experience REQUIRED
-
Patient ratio experience: 1:10 12 preferred (unit expectation 1:7 for day shift CNAs)
-
On-call required: Yes (if overstaffed)

Weekends: Required (every other weekend standard)
-
Block schedules: Not permitted
-
Floating: No floating between units
-
48-hour schedules: Not approved
-
Travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Qualifications Education
Experience
-
Minimum 0.8 years of CNA experience in an acute care or comparable clinical setting
-
Experience caring for adult and older-adult populations
-
Previous charge experience preferred but not required
