POSITION: Sanctuary Place Advocate
PROGRAM: Sanctuary Place
HOURS: 3rd Shift - 36 hours weekly Mon-Thu 10:30PM-7:30AM
SALARY: 28.10
LOCATION: Wrentham

DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Sanctuary Place Director the SP advocate will provide overall support to residents and will ensure the safety security and wellbeing of residents and the maintenance and functioning of the program throughout their shift.
- Assess survivors initially and proceed with safety planning orientation to services.
- Provide comprehensive case management services to survivors of sexual exploitation that follows a trauma-informed harm reduction survivor-centered approach. Services will include accompanying survivors to appointments social service agencies etc.; collaborating with survivors to develop a service plan and timeline based on identified goals and barriers; meeting face-to-face with survivors throughout the month to review goals and make updates or changes to the plan.
- Assist survivors with accessing resources including emotional and mental health medical services employment services legal services and others as determined by the individualized service plan.
- Attend & coordinate group activities including but not limited to wellness and recreation.
- Engage and support the community by participating in outreach efforts to increase sexual exploitation awareness and victim identification.
- Prepare and maintain quality case notes and documentation for any contact made and service provided.
- Promote a clean harmonious and welcoming environment.
- Light housekeeping.
- Ensure that the basic needs of all residents are met during their stay including but not limited to food clothing bedding and medical needs.
- Work closely with the case manager to communicate needs and to ensure seamless continuity of services.
- Document all interactions as required and expected including but not limited to special requests incidents and other concerns. Report all safety concerns to Program Director.
- Maintain safety and security precautions.
- Work closely with the Program Director to identify and address all facility maintenance in a timely fashion.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Case management experience.
- Must demonstrate great time management skills.
- Prior experience of working with survivors of sexual exploitation or other victims of crime preferred. Experience should include providing direct service to underserved populations.
- Lived experience in sexual exploitation/Substance abuse strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate understanding of the dynamics of sexual exploitation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Knowledge of & experience in providing a trauma-informed harm reduction and survivor-centered approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness mental health substance abuse preferred. Experience in accessing community resources and making referrals particularly in housing. Self-starter with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience working with survivors of gender-based violence and sexual exploitation; Experience addressing the impacts of decisions and actions on multiple communities. Understanding of both interpersonal and structural racism and bias. Knowledge and understanding of sexual exploitation.
