*This position is a part-time term-limited position funded for 1 year from the date of hire with the possibility of becoming permanent if additional funding is approved at a later date.

Job Summary

This position is a 1-year term limited part time position in the Natural Area and Trails Division in Culture Parks in Recreation for the City of Greeley. The Generation Wild Coordinator will steward the Generation Wild Greeley Coalition a coalition composed of program providers partners and general the Generation Wild Coordinator supports coalition vision and strategy ensures implementation of aligned activities and shared measurement practices cultivates community engagement and ownership mobilizes resources and provides accountability for execution of grant deliverables.

Experience Knowledge Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as sociology communications public relations or marketing.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience.

OR

  • Any combination of related education experience certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job

AND

  • Possession of a valid drivers license.

Preferred

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
    Six to Eight (6-8) years of related experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in community outreach relationship building and event planning.
    Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse community partners.

  • Knowledge of community outreach engagement and public relations strategies.

  • Skills in creating and delivering effective written and visual outreach materials (flyers newsletters presentations).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written with diverse audiences.

  • Skill in building partnerships with community organizations leaders and stakeholders.

  • Ability to plan coordinate and evaluate events workshops and public forums.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments and align outreach with City goals.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to use data and community feedback to improve outreach strategies.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).

  • Cultural competency and ability to navigate diverse perspectives with sensitivity.

Essential Functions

  • Leads coalition strategy and direction by convening the Core Team to set goals monitor progress address barriers and oversee the coalitions Operations Plan and budget.
  • Facilitates collaborative planning through development and annual updates of a shared 5-year program plan and budget.
  • Coordinates communication and information management by maintaining clear communication channels managing the coalitions Google Drive and ensuring consistent partner engagement.
  • Fosters strong partner relationships with nonprofits grassroots groups government agencies and community organizations; onboards new members and supports cultural competency training.
  • Plans and facilitates coalition meetings and convenings including monthly multilingual meetings Core Team sessions and annual strategy discussions; manages logistics and translation services.
  • Designs and leads inclusive facilitation processes that promote trust uphold community norms and encourage shared decision-making among partners.
  • Supports partner programming and outreach attends events and provides coordination to strengthen collaborative efforts.
  • Engages and connects with the community supports relationships with youth families and neighborhood leaders in East Greeley.
  • Coordinates with community and youth advisory groups to ensure resident perspectives shape coalition strategies and priorities.
  • Oversees grant reporting and financial accountability ensures compliance with funder requirements tracks match contributions and monitors partner deliverables.
  • Supports data evaluation and learning efforts in collaboration with external evaluation partners to assess outcomes and share findings with the coalition.
  • Advances fundraising and sustainability by supporting collaborative grant writing encouraging partner contributions and ensuring a commitment to language justice in all coalition activities.
  • Maintains consistent coordination with Great Outdoors Colorado staff attends annual Shared Learning events and other relevant convenings connects with other coalition leaders and brings back learning and ideas to the coalition.
  • Onboards new coalition members and ensures their participation in a cultural competency training led by Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains and their Young Adult Refugees participating in their Youth Employment program.
  • Coordinates translation and interpretation services as needed for coalition meetings and other gatherings.
  • Supports coalition members to build and enhance individual relationships with youth families and key neighborhood leaders (community connectors) in the focus communityEast Greeley.
  • Supports coalition members in recruitment of Community and/or Youth Council members and ensures the perspectives of community advisory members are incorporated into the strategies and goals of the coalition.
  • Prepares reports including internal City grant reports annual Great Outdoors Colorado Advance Request forms Actual Work Completed reports Final Budget and Work Plan reports and other reports as required by funders.
  • Coordinates with program partners to receive all necessary reporting materials by required deadlines.
  • Develops tools and processes to facilitate ongoing reporting from partners.
  • Drafts a protocol for instances when program providers consistently do not fulfill their agreed-upon scope of work to take to the coalition to vote on.
  • Assists with the distribution of funds to Program Partners and manages the reporting requirements. Tracks cash and in-kind match from coalition partners.
  • Works with CICollab and UNC Active Schools Institute to establish a routine share-back of process and learnings in coalition meetings.
  • Encourages Program Providers to support Generation Wild Greeley fundraising efforts by including Generation Wild programs in their operating budgets applying for outside grants or conducting other fundraising activities. Funds procured by individual coalition program providers and partners are not required to be included in pooled funds unless the scope of the grant includes the entire coalition.

  • Category A-Standard Local Travel: This position requires occasional local travel within the County. Employees may be expected to walk or drive short distances to attend meetings trainings or perform work at other city buildings or partner sites.

  • This position is a hybrid work environment with in-person and remote work scheduled with approval of the supervisor.
  • Primarily based in a standard office environment which involves working at a desk or workstation for extended periods.

  • This position may occasionally require visits to other offices or off-site locations for meetings or project work depending on job responsibilities.
  • This position involves regular interaction with community members partner organizations and funders.
  • The role may include occasional evening or weekend meetings and participation in outdoor community events.

  • Dexterity: Ability to perform repetitive movements for typing writing and operating office equipment.
