How youll contribute
A Trauma PI Coordinatorwho excels in this role
- Participates in the development of new approaches to trauma care in accord with the hospitals philosophy and objectives PTSF standards and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
- Facilitate concurrent identification and review of trauma quality issues as well as review of deficiencies identified by the trauma registry performance improvement program.
- Monitor the process and outcome of patient care including adverse and unexpected events.
- Identify issues through all phases of care concurrently and retrospectively.
- Define Levels of review.
- Develop action plans implement plan and re-evaluated to determine effectiveness and resolution of issues.
- Benchmark data.
- Submit data to PTSF Central Site.
- Review PIPS plan annually and update UDIs as indicated.
- Participate in TQIP.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of care.
- Improve the knowledge and skill of trauma care providers.
- Provide the institutional structure and organization to promote PI and patient safety.
- Participate on trauma committees as requested and maintain 75% attendance at PIPS meetings.
- Attendance in local regional state and national trauma related activities.
- Be current and knowledgeable of standards for trauma center accreditation as outlined by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.
- Collaborate with all trauma unit nurse managers trauma program manager trauma services PA/CRNP to provide orientation and on-going trauma education activities in all trauma-designed areas as requested.
- Identify opportunities for and promote research within the institution.
- Collaborate with the TPD and TPM to implement and assure adherence to the Trauma Programs Performance Improvement Program.
- Maintain PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by the PTSF.
- Actively participate in the trauma improvements program.
- Active participation in the site survey process as directed.
- Organize educational activities including M&M conferences.

What were looking for
Applicants should be a graduate of RN completion of the basic traumanurse course Degree required within seven requirements include:
- Minimum of three years in Trauma Nursing.
- Current PA registration of professional nurse license.
