Job Summary
- Play a key role in delivering a world-class scientific infrastructure for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) the largest radio telescope in history.
- Join a high-profile international research centre driving innovation in astrophotonics and advanced engineering.
- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
- Base salary range: $116262 $127078 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia (UWA) and one of the largest astronomy institutions in Australia. ICRAR is a lead organisation in the global SKA Project which will transform our understanding of the Universe. The Astrophotonics Group at ICRAR develops cutting-edge photonic systems for radio astronomy optical astronomy and space science combining expertise in physics engineering and astronomy.
About the opportunity
- Lead quality assurance for the SKA-Mid Frequency Distribution System ensuring compliance with international standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and global partners to deliver a robust scalable solution for the SKA.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee quality processes from design to deployment.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering quality management or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) including ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
- Strong knowledge of IPC J-STD-001H standards and electronic assembly quality requirements.
- Proven ability to manage nonconformance processes and conduct internal/external audits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
