The annual pay range for middle school vice principals is $135124 to $142562.

School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) has an exciting vacancy for a motivated visionary energetic and caring vice principal.

You are an experienced master teacher or current Vice-Principal possessing or working towards a Masters degree in Educational Leadership or a related field. You are recognized by your colleagues for your leadership ability and have experience in leadership roles. Comfortable with technology student discipline and inclusive practices you offer excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills .

We are looking for strong applications complete with 3 current or recent professional supervisory references from people who can clearly demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate through the BC Ministry of Education (with fees paid to the TRB until June 2025) - proof of such must be provided
  • Completion of a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership or related graduate degree
  • Class 5 BC Drivers License
  • At least five years of successful teaching experience and demonstrated formal school leadership experiences.

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) seeks candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Ministry of Educations K-12 curriculum and the Graduation Program and implementation of current learning theory as related to instruction and assessment
  • Demonstrated culturally responsive support for Indigenous students
  • Demonstrated ability to support and maintain an inclusive equitable safe and caring school environment through caring relationships and positive behavioral intervention supports for all students
  • Excellent skills as a visionary visible accessible dynamic innovative and flexible leader
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students staff parents and community
  • A demonstrated consultative style of leadership exhibiting strong decision-making skills
  • A clear ability to provide leadership in supporting and integrating technology to support learning and the ability to provide leadership in a distributed learning environment
  • A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to excellence in education to support the needs of learners and knowledge of and experience with educational uses of technology student information systems (MyEdBC) and other administrative software
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to working as a member of a district administrative team

This is a continuing position with an immediate start date. This position will be filled in accordance with Policy 170 and AP 4104: Appointment of Principals and Vice-Principals.
