DAP Support Officer

Weve got a unique opportunity for a full-time and Part-Time Support Officer to join our Defence Assistance Program (DAP) right here in Melbourne

Through this rewarding role youll be helping people with disability feel confident and supported in their jobs and in this case those jobs are within Defence bases supporting the amazing work our Defence personnel do behind the scenes.

A bit about the role:
As a Support Officer in our DAP team youll:

• Support and guide a small group of employees with disability in their day-to-day work
• Provide one-on-one coaching and encouragement to help build skills and confidence
• Help your team settle into the workplace understand tasks and feel part of the Defence community
• Keep simple progress notes and support plans up to date
• Work closely with Defence staff to make sure work is getting done safely on time and to a high standard
• Schedule tasks and help manage workloads
• Attend training team meetings and follow workplace safety and support procedures

What were looking for:

• Someone with a calm positive attitude who loves helping others
• Experience working with people with disability is an advantage we would love someone with the drive passion and the want to make a difference
• A great communicator who can explain tasks clearly and handle different situations
• Confident using computers and Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Excel)
• Able to work well with others and build good relationships with both your team and the Defence crew
• An Australian Citizen (required to apply for Baseline Security Clearance)
