Position summary:
In the Brazilian Amazon in the state of Pará in the municipalities of Breves Curralinho and Ponta de Pedras Rainforest Alliance is seeking a project manager to join the team of a technical assistance and rural extension project to be implemented in the state of Pará.
The project will be carried out in close collaboration with SEDAP to improve the productive capacities of rural producers and social productive organizations implement sustainable and low-carbon practices in the açaí and cocoa value chains and develop bioeconomy projects eligible for financing through rural credit lines and programs as well as relevant incentive mechanisms.
Rainforest Alliance is recruiting specialized professionals focused on topics such as regenerative agriculture bio-business socio-bioeconomy productive restoration rural technical assistance access to credit and related activities. At this time the focus is on professionals with experience and active work in the state of Pará particularly on Marajó Island considering the projects location.
Responsibilities:
- The Rainforest Alliances Core Values are Impact Change Collaboration Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviours we demonstrate.
- Provides overall strategic supervision and guidance for technical assistance and rural extension programs.
- Supervises the activities of Engineers Specialists and Technicians in Pará and ensures project execution according to the work plan.
- Develops and implements the training plan for associated trainers and supervises all capacity-building activities and involved professionals.
- Prepares reports and strategic documents on the project and maintains constant communication with the leadership team.
- Ensures that all project objectives and the delivery of technical financial and compliance outputs are met as required.
- Participates in field activities and visits to demonstrative units leading the technical team and local partners and allies
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental management engineering sciences or similar area and or project management related fields;
- Masters degree or equivalent level in project management or other consulting-related disciplines;
- 10 years of specific experience in managing complex projects that include technical assistance and rural extension activities;
- At least 5 years of the 10 years mentioned of specific experience in managing complex projects that include technical assistance and rural extension activities in the Amazon;
- Experience working for international NGOs and international cooperation projects in the Amazon.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
