2025-2026 Salary -$16.83 per hour per RSPA Master Agreement for Classification I
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma and excellent command of the English language.
- General office experience required.
- Good basic computer skills and aptitude to learn software programs used in this position.
- Ability to handle a variety of duties and to accomplish tasks with interruptions.
- Ability to interact positively with school/community and to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion in working with confidential data.
- Regular reliable and punctual attendance required.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
JOB GOAL: To serve the counseling staff by acting as a facilitator in solving problems assisting as counseling liaison by maintaining accurate and complete school and student records; scheduling counseling sessions; and completing other counseling office tasks.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Performance responsibilities will vary depending on the specific requirements of a building. The performance responsibilities listed below represent an overview of the responsibilities for this position.
- Serves as a positive public relations advocate for the department school and District by interacting appropriately with visitors staff and students; answering questions; relaying messages; and following through with problem resolution.
- Utilizes computer programs to make schedule changes.
- Provides clerical support to members of the counseling staff.
- Supervised distribution and collection of student data.
- Coordinates activities an ancillary staff and counselors in meeting student staff and/or parent needs.
- Serves as the counseling liaison for the counseling office by receiving and appropriately referring counselor telephone calls and scheduling parent/student appointments.
- Provides first aid in emergency situations as required.
- Coordinates student testing as required throughout the school year.
- Assists the counselors and building administrators as requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 10.5 month position.
- 8 hours per day
- Salary and benefits as per master agreement for Classification I.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- An employee working in this assignment will be required to sit for long periods of time and work on a desktop computer.
- Data entry and record search is a large part of the duties of this position and repetitive hand motion will be required.
- May be required to lift and move materials with weights up to 30 pounds.
REQUIRED POSITION TESTS:
Microsoft Office Current District Version: Basic-level Word and Excel and Outlook; Assessments in Customer Service Phone Skills Interpersonal/Teamwork Skills Sentence Clarity Spelling and Numeric/Alpha Filing/Record Locator tests.
