Job Title: Transit IT Specialist
Division: Administration
Reports To: Transit IT Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transit IT Specialist
Tier 1 Technical Support
Provide first-level technical support for hardware software mobile devices network connectivity and user account issues
Log track and resolve support tickets in a timely manner
Assist employees with workstation setup password resets and peripheral installation
Escalate complex issues to the Director of IT when necessary
Onboard Bus Technology
Assist with installation configuration and maintenance of onboard bus computer systems including:
CAD/AVL systems
Farebox/Validator equipment
Cameras and DVR systems
Wi-Fi routers and modems
GPS and telematics hardware
Perform basic diagnostics for malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs
Document equipment status serial numbers configurations and updates
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in IT preferred)
1 year of experience in IT support help desk or related technical field
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems Microsoft 365 and networking fundamentals
Ability to diagnose common hardware/software issues
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to enter/exit buses crouch and work with small hardware components
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and garage environments
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All positions are Safety Sensitive and require pre-employment drug testing; background checks; clean driving records and applicants must be able to work flexible shifts.
Require that applicants have no more than two (2) moving violations in the past five years and no convictions of a serious traffic violation (i.e. DWI driving with a suspended canceled or revoked license) in the past five years.
