Job Summary
Japanese precision maker seeks a Shipper Receiver
Summary: The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for performing packing shipping receiving and related tasks to assure timely handling of material and products. Reports to: Sr. Operations Manager Hourly non-exempt.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Receives part after inspection and packs according to the counting and packing standards. Reports to group leader or quality control of defects discovered while packing parts.
2. Receives shipping orders and instructions from sales. Picks items from stock. Selects and assembles cartons stages material for efficient palletizing or crating. Operates label maker to make and apply labels. Stages cartons for shipping. May operate shrink wrap or banding machine. Checks counts and assembles bills of lading.
3. Checks shipping orders verifies counts and loads trucks Operates hand and powered material handling equipment. Obtains drivers signature. Monitors shipping supplies and notifies superior of need to reorder. May operate truck to pick up or deliver parcels.
4. Operates hand and powered material handling equipment to off load raw material products and supplies from trucks. Counts and verifies material compared to bill of lading signs receipt. Records discrepancies and reports discrepancies to group leader. Moves and stores material in designated areas.
5. Operates lift truck hand truck pallet mover and related material handling equipment. Lifts and moves items following safe lifting practices. Observes safety precautions when strapping lifting and moving. Stores items securely to prevent shifting or falling. Applies cables to charge lift truck nightly. Reports equipment malfunctions to group leader.
6. Observes safety standards follows safety rules wears specified personal protective equipment. Maintains neat work area. Participates in safety activities.
7. Maintains records and sheets related to packing record shipping instructions and P.O.P.S. Reviews records notifies superior or takes corrective action to maintain quality and production standards.
8. May operate company vehicle for pick up or delivery of parts.
9. Recommends improvements. Participates in training. Performs other tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
* High school education or equivalent.
* 0 - 1 year experience in one or more areas including packing material handling shipping receiving or lift truck operations.
* Ability to perform math computations and lift/move 50 pound items. Possess drivers license.
* Any other equivalent combination of training and experience
