Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Supervisor you will provide 24-hour oversight and leadership for the Sterile Processing unit. This critical role ensures efficient safe and cost-effective sterilization directly impacting patient safety and clinical operations.

Every day you will manage and lead the Sterile Processing team allocating staff equipment and resources cost-effectively. Youll assist the manager with budget preparation maintenance and monitoring. You will also develop and maintain standards of care consistent with hospital policies and our Mission and Philosophy.

To be successful you will demonstrate strong supervisory skills in-depth sterile processing knowledge patient safety expertise and resource management. Excellent financial acumen communication and an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and organizational values are essential.

  • Supervises all assigned staff to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Performs personnel-related functions (hiring terminating disciplining training etc.). Ensures staffing is appropriate.
  • Submits performance assessments to Director for approval prior to due date. Evaluates work performance of staff and makes recommendations for merit increases promotions and disciplinary actions.
  • Holds regular staff meetings to maintain open communication within the department.
  • Counsels employees and implements disciplinary action as necessary according to severity of infraction utilizing organization personnel policies.
  • Prepares work schedules assigns personnel evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel action.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 3 years experience as an instrument technician surgical technician and/or Central Supply technician

  • One of the following certifications: CRCST CSPDS CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD

Preferred:

  • Bachelors and supervisory experience
