Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Bogota Colombia.

Legal professional within the Americas Legal team and responsible for developing and implementing legal and contracting strategies. May lead or contribute to cross-functional projects.

Develops and supports policies procedures and training programs aligned with organizational goals. Provides advice interpretation and guidance to senior management and officers regarding a variety of legal and contractual topics.

Responsibilities:

• Lawyer with relevant experience to provide legal support to the Americas region with a strong background in commercial and contract law particularly in engineering EPC or EPCM or similar services.
• May train and coach junior attorneys in the Americas region or within the wider company on matters within their specific areas of knowledge and/or experience.
• May mentor less experienced lawyers (who are not direct reports) within on topics within their areas of experience skill and knowledge.
• Reports to the relevant Senior Associate General Counsel and collaborates closely with senior leadership regional generalist attorneys CoE teams MPP/strategic teams and cross-functional teams to manage legal risk and support business objectives.
• Reviews and negotiates customer contracts within the Americas region.
• Expected to handle and resolve legal matters in collaboration with the relevant CoE teams.
• May handle and advise on labor and employment matters within the Americas region in collaboration with the Labor & Employment CoE.
• May support one or more Major Projects in the opportunity stage by advising the capture team on contractual and other legal risks and issues and by drafting reviewing and negotiating the relevant contract.
• May support one or more Major Projects in the execution stage by providing legal advice regarding change management commercial issues and potential claims and disputes with the customer and third parties.
• May participate in one or more practice area Working Groups in support of and in collaboration with the responsible GC and where appropriate the relevant CoE.
• Decision Making:
  • Makes independent decisions on routine matters and escalates complex issues appropriately.
• Supervision Received:
  • Operates under guidance from the relevant Senior Associate General Counsel or CoE Lead.
• Supervision Authority:
  • May mentor junior attorneys.
• Communication:
  • Highly effective communicator both orally and in writing. Communicates advice clearly to internal stakeholders; collaborates effectively across teams.

What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:

• Preferred 4 years of relevant experience with demonstrated growth potential.
• Experience in a global or matrixed organization preferred.
• Experience with legal systems technology tools and AI is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Worley governance frameworks and business processes; Expected to contribute to and support development of legal tools templates and training programs.

Education Qualifications Accreditation Training:

Required:

• Requires a Juris Doctor (JD) or legal degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one Worley jurisdiction to the extent legally required in the relevant jurisdiction.
