The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Introduction
We wish to recruit a postdoctoral fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Salman Qureshi. The CIHR-funded research project aims to advance fundamental knowledge of host resistance to progressive infection with Cryptococcus neoformans through systematic analysis of cells and molecular pathways in unique genetically modified mouse models. The fundamental insights arising from these studies have translational potential that will pave the way for improved management of invasive fungal disease in humans.
Responsabilities and Objectives
Design and perform studies in mice and cells
Assist with preparation of reports manuscripts and grant applications
Present work at internal local national and international meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Postdoctoral fellow is a full-time student currently enrolled in a Canadian University program. The individual must have recently been awarded (within 5 years) a PhD or equivalent. The Postdoctoral fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a professors grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered.
Excellent English spoken and written
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Published experience in mouse studies and flow cytometry is viewed as a major asset.
