What youll do
Responsibilities
What you will be doing
You will provide technical assistance for projects led by the Research Scientists. This involves assisting with day-to-day operations of a project to meet the research objectives and commitments with collaborating partners and funding agencies.
On a daily basis you may be working on one or more research projects. This position may conduct fieldwork in support of data acquisition missions which may require both indoor and outside working environments.
Innovative and committed to life-long learning the Research Associate is a creative self-starter with a commitment to research excellence.
To be eligible for this summer student research assistant position:
Self-identify as indigenous and must be a NSCC or University student and returning to school in September or will be graduating from a NSCC or University program in May/June 2026.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Working on completing a college diploma or university degree
Minimum experience:
Experience ideally related to plant ecology crop science soil science but not required
Experience with compiling diverse datasets from various sources
Ability to conduct field research experiments with minimum supervision
Work irregular hours
Minimum skills and ability:
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective communication skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Exceptional client service skills and a proven team player
