About Company: Our client is the Security Trading arm of a leading integrated financial services group in Nigeria. The organisation operates across key segments of the financial ecosystem and is recognized for its innovation strong governance and deep commitment to client success.
The Company is seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead its securities trading business into its next phase of strategic expansion.
Job Summary:
The Managing Director will provide visionary leadership and commercial direction for a high-performing securities business with activities spanning brokerage dealing sales investor services and digital trading solutions. This role is suited to a transformational leader with a strong track record in capital markets exceptional stakeholder management capabilities and the ability to scale a trading business in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic acumen with hands-on leadership and the ability to drive significant growth in AUM trading volumes market share and overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial and operational performance of the securities business to deliver strong revenue growth margin expansion and market leadership.
Oversee all securities dealing and proprietary trading activities ensuring profitable and compliant execution across equities fixed income and structured products.
Strengthen market positioning by developing innovative products expanding institutional and HNI portfolios and driving superior client experience.
Champion digital transformation and oversee the evolution of modern technology-driven trading platforms.
Provide strategic guidance market insights and performance updates to the Group leadership team.
Build a high-performance culture focused on excellence collaboration and continuous improvement.
Maintain strong relationships with regulators partners and key market stakeholders.
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements internal controls corporate governance and risk management frameworks.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years experience within the capital markets with at least 5 years in senior executive leadership.
Working knowledge of the Capital Market and AFEX Commodities market
Excellent leadership skills with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
Demonstrated success in equity and fixed income trading business growth and team leadership.
Strong understanding of the Nigerian Capital Market and AFEX Commodities market as well as trading operations investment products and regulatory landscape.
Bachelors degree required; MSc/MBA or other advanced qualifications preferred.
Must be a Chartered Stockbroker an Authorized Dealing Clerk and a SEC-sponsored individual.
Proven ability to drive strategy manage financial performance and lead digital transformation initiatives.
